Let’s Catch Up…

17th February 2017

It’s been 8 months… How did that happen? Well, for the sake of easy reading, let’s keep this catch up brief. There’s some big changes and a lot to tell.

Since I last blogged way back in June, I packed my bag and moved my life from the UK over to Australia in September, with a lovely little stop in Bali on the way. We lived and worked in Sydney for four months, then in January we moved to Melbourne. Of course, I had planned to blog all of this as I went along but honestly, I had a lot more fun just living in the moment and not caring whether my food photos were blog-worthy, or my bikini shots ‘candid’ enough. In that respect, I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m back now, though, because I have missed the writing aspect. In fact, I’ve really missed it. That’s what I’m supposed to be doing with my life – and what I tell everyone I want to be doing – but shamefully, the most I’ve written is a few postcards since leaving to travel. Life got in the way, but it seems fitting that now I have some spare time on my hands (hello, funemployment) I should be making good use of it.

A key factor that has also inspired me to get back into blogging has been my transition to a vegan lifestyle. This coming Sunday will mark my first month as a vegan – yep, I told you there were some big changes. I wouldn’t have believed it a year ago, either, but somehow I’ve weaned myself off burgers, cheese and fried chicken and I’ve never felt happier about making the change for the animals, the environment and myself. (Also, vegan junk food is the bomb during the weaning process, just sayin’.)

My blog will mostly remain the same – food, travel and lifestyle – but I’ll be discussing plenty of issues surrounding veganism, environmentalism and activism in further depth. It’s 2017 and there’s some scary shit happening in the world – let’s get real and talk about it. As for my old non-vegan recipes, I hope to veganise some, if not all of them at some stage in the future. Hold tight for vegan mac and cheese *swoons*

It’s good to be back.
