Our first stop in Melbourne was a beautiful little apartment right in the centre of the city, living with the sweetest couple. Clearly Olivia and I babbled on way too much about how much we love matcha and avocado, because they decided to surprise us one day with this delicious matcha avocado smoothie.
It’s a really simple but delicious recipe, that not only keeps you full but also provides that much needed caffeine kick to get you going in the morning/perk you up during an afternoon slump. The avocado adds a rich creaminess and makes it feel almost milkshake-like, but there’s no dairy induced sluggishness to deal with afterwards.
- 375ml coconut water
- handful of ice cubes
- 1/2 an avocado
- 1/2 tsp matcha powder
- 3 Medjool dates, pitted
- Place all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
- Serve and enjoy.
