Turtle Bay, Bath

Turtle Bay is fast becoming one of my favourite places to eat and drink. If you like your food with a kick, served to Caribbean music and washed down with rum cocktails, this is your kind of place. One of my friends from home came to stay with me in Bath yesterday, and after salivating over the online menu, we went for a late lunch to catch up.

Happy hour is almost all day, so of course, a cocktail was required. We sipped on Caribbean Pimms; zingy and refreshing, full of mint and ginger, and I tried the sweetcorn fritters. They were so good. I could’ve eaten five bowls of them. Must. Find. Recipe.

For main, we had the curry goat, which is so tender and richly spiced, it practically melts in your mouth. I’m not the most adventurous when it comes to meat (ex-veggie problems) but I wanted to try something new. If the idea of goat puts you off, their chicken curry is just as good; like chicken tikka massala with Caribbean spices, also served with rice ‘n’ peas and flatbread.

They’re located in various places throughout the UK, so if you pass one, be sure to give it a try – even if it is just to sample one of their cocktails. There’s nothing better than rum and curry to warm you up this winter.

I love Turtle Bay as well, I've only ever been for dinner though, I'll have to try it out at lunch as well because those dishes look so good! 🙂
